Traditional Capital Campaigns
The genesis of these campaigns, according to Harold J. Seymour, developed during World War II as an effort to secure private funds for the Community Chest and the USO.
These campaigns were modeled after military war campaigns. They called their volunteers lieutenants and captains and followed the basic military strategy. They required a large volunteer force, armed with high-powered multi-media campaign materials. Classically, these campaigns devour huge amounts of time, energy and money, which is why more and more organizations are exploring the advantages of the Guerilla Capital Campaign.
